Semester Abroad

Posted by JeffHeim - August 19th, 2009

I wanted to thank those who have provided me with feedback on the short cues I have been writing this Summer. You have no idea how much it has helped with mastering, improving audio balance, orchestration, and virtually every aspect of producing better sound. For that, I'm in all of your debt- thank you so much.

The reason I'm saying this now is because the Summer is almost over, and I will soon be traveling abroad to Italy for a semester and won't be bringing my computer. It's going to be a long three months without composing for media, but a necessary break to finally go out and see something other than a computer screen. I'm leaving September 6th, and getting back December 7th. I'll try to check NG every once in a while in an internet cafe over in Italy, but chance are I'll be too busy to contribute much to the website. Most likely, my absense will hardly be noticed, as there is an abundance of great music and professional advice constantly being added to NG. I wish you all well, I'll be back before you know it.

Lastly, I recently purchased Cubase 5, which has superb new reverb called "REVerence". Cubase 5 is almost worth the purchase just for the reverb...it is AMAZING. You can add the reverb to fake VST's as well as live performances, and you wouldn't be able to tell that the added reverb is artificial. I've touched up most my pieces with this new reverb, and will have everything touched up by the time I leave in a few weeks. Thank you for reading all the way through, and best wishes with all your projects!
